HumeLink is one of the largest energy infrastructure projects currently underway in Australia. It is a double circuit 500Kv transmission line spanning approximately 360 km through regional New South Wales and it will connect Wagga Wagga, Bannaby, and Maraglevia new high-voltage transmission lines, new and expanded substations. HumeLink is a critical part of the NSW and national electricity roadmap — enabling the integration of renewable energy into the grid, enhancing energy reliability, and supporting Australia’s transition to a clean energy future. About The Role

 

As a Cost Engineer in Transgrid’s HumeLink Major Projects team, you will play a vital role in shaping the success of some of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure developments. You will lead the preparation, analysis, and management of detailed cost plans and forecast to completion, ensuring accuracy and transparency throughout the project. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will support strategic decision-making, identify cost risks and opportunities, and drive the continuous improvement of cost management  practices on high-profile transmission projects.

 

About You

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
  • Experienced in working on major infrastructure projects, with preferable on-site experience understanding the nuances of construction
  • Demonstrated experience in risk and opportunity analysis, forecast at completion planning, cost control on major infrastructure projects
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to consolidate data into clear, actionable reporting
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), CPI and SPI principles
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify cost risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and foster collaborative working relationships.
