Project EnergyConnect (PEC) is a landmark high-voltage interconnector linking New South Wales and South Australia. Spanning over 700km from Wagga Wagga to the SA border, it is a critical enabler of Australia’s clean energy transition, facilitating large-scale renewables and delivering on the AEMO Integrated System Plan. PEC will improve grid reliability, reduce electricity costs for consumers, and unlock new investment opportunities in renewable energy generation across the eastern states.
About the Role
As Cost Controller, appointed on a 12-month fixed-term basis, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data supporting the PEC project. This role plays a crucial part in financial reporting, project risk management, cost forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll work closely with cross-functional workstream leads including Delivery, Engineering, Commercial, and Stakeholder Engagement ensuring financial transparency across this nationally significant project.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline
- Experience supporting cost control, project accounting, or financial management across large-scale infrastructure, utilities, or construction projects
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, practical insights
- A collaborative approach with well-developed communication skills to engage effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Excel and financial systems, with a continuous improvement mindset
- CPA or CA membership (or currently working towards) will be highly regarded.
