About the role
Join a major infrastructure project and help shape how Transgrid connects with communities across Sydney. As a Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager for the Sydney Ring South project, you’ll lead engagement strategies that are transparent, inclusive and accessible.
You’ll drive the Community and Stakeholder workstream, building trusted relationships with government, regulators, media and local communities while balancing stakeholder needs with project objectives. This is a unique opportunity to influence a landmark energy project, strengthen Transgrid’s social licence to operate and deliver lasting benefits for communities and customers.
About you
You’re a confident community engagement professional with strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills gained through major infrastructure, utilities, energy or construction projects. You have demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder environments, building trusted relationships with senior leaders and communities, and delivering engagement programs that support successful project outcomes. Other requirements include:
- Relevant tertiary qualification Communications, Public Relations, Community Engagement, Social Science, Planning or a related discipline.
- First Nations and government stakeholder engagement experience.
- Stakeholder management in complex, highly regulated environments.
- Community engagement leadership on major infrastructure or construction projects.
- Development and delivery of strategic communications and engagement plans.
- Ability to manage high-profile, sensitive and reputational issues.
- Strong stakeholder influencing skills across executives, government, industry and communities.
- Proven leadership of teams, contractors and resources to deliver project outcomes.
- IAP2 Foundations certification.
You bring sound judgement, resilience and a practical approach to stakeholder engagement. You are comfortable working in fast-paced project environments, balancing customer requirements, community expectations and project objectives while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and protecting organisational reputation.
