About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on major infrastructure projects as the Community & Stakeholder Engagement Lead – Western Sydney. You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering community and stakeholder engagement strategies that support project approvals, construction delivery and long-term social licence across Lumea’s growing portfolio of customer and network infrastructure projects.
With a focus on Western Sydney’s rapidly expanding data centre and infrastructure landscape, you’ll provide specialist engagement leadership and advice, building trusted relationships with communities, councils, government agencies, landowners, Traditional Owners, customers, industry groups, regulators and other key stakeholders.
Working closely with project teams, customers and delivery partners, you will identify and manage stakeholder and community risks, support approvals processes, resolve complex issues and help deliver positive outcomes for customers and communities.
About you
You’re a confident community engagement professional with strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills gained through major infrastructure, utilities, energy or construction projects. You have demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder environments, leading consultants and contractors, building trust building trusted relationships with senior leaders and communities, and delivering engagement programs that support successful project outcomes. Other requirements include:
- Relevant tertiary qualification Communications, Public Relations, Community Engagement, Social Science, Planning or a related discipline.
- Experience developing and delivering contemporary communications and engagement strategies within major infrastructure, utilities or construction environments.
- Experience preparing and implementing project engagement plans, stakeholder management plans and issues management strategies
- Demonstrated experience managing high-profile, complex or sensitive community and stakeholder issues.
- Strong understanding of utility and infrastructure construction activities, including impacts associated with contractor delivery programs.
- Ability to manage consultants, contractors and engagement service providers.
- IAP2 Foundations certification.
- Understanding of The Energy Charter Landowner & Community Better Practice Engagement Guide.
- Current White Card and NSW driver licence, or willingness to obtain.
You bring sound judgement, resilience and a practical approach to stakeholder engagement. You are comfortable working in fast-paced project environments, balancing customer requirements, community expectations and project objectives while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and protecting organisational reputation.
