The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to leading Australia’s clean energy transition, building the energy super-highways and enabling nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
Transgrid is delivering the Federal and State Government's vision for a clean energy future, building the transmission super-highway which will transform the energy supply for millions of Australians. New renewable generation is being built across the eastern seaboard and will connect to the grid to get that electricity to market.
Our major projects are a priority for Governments and for the nation. The integration of renewables will secure and strengthen the electricity network and enable greater sharing between NSW, ACT, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.
As the Community Engagement and Investment Manager you will be responsible for developing and managing community and landowner engagement strategies, plans and services to support the planning and delivery of EnergyCo and Lumea projects. You will also support major bids, emerging market product development and High Voltage connection customer requests and value adds.
As Community Engagement and Investment Manager you will:
- Provide strategic oversight, advice and direction on landowner, community and stakeholder engagement strategies and activities for projects
- Manage and lead consultation processes and outcomes arising from complaints and community opposition groups, and lead activism risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead extensive engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including landowners, customers, communities, and government entities, to deliver timely and efficient advice and information.
- Develop and lead industry leading community and landowner customer services for enquiries and complaints, for project and operational business activities.
- Establish and manage the governance and assurance framework for community engagement activities, including strategies, plans, procedures and templates.
- Lead development and management of corporate community investment and benefit sharing strategies, plans and programs
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations or in a related area
- Extensive community engagement experience, including experience leading community engagement on large scale infrastructure projects
- Experience leading consultation activities on contentious projects
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with customers, senior executives, stakeholder groups, and political representatives (including elected officials).
- Ability to work on high profile and sensitive community issues.
- Ability to implement effective public relations strategies and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Proven ability to achieve results in a high volume, high pressure work environment to meet strict deadlines.
- Proven ability to develop staff through providing guidance, mentoring, and coaching.
- Accreditation in IAP2 practices
Desirable
- Community engagement experience in a regional / rural setting.
- General knowledge of the electricity supply industry and TransGrid’s roles and responsibilities.
