About the Opportunity 

 

This is your chance to join Transgrid as a Civil and Structural Design Manager, leading a technical team to deliver designs and develop standards based on project objectives and stakeholder needs. You will oversee civil and structural design works, including earthworks, roads, drainage, footings, and structures. Your ability to drive continuous improvement will also allow you to manage surveys, geotechnical and hydrological studies, feasibility studies and field investigations. Additionally, you’ll support the High Voltage Design Manager by providing expert advice, designs, reports, approval of construction designs and management of project deliverables.    

  

About You:  

 

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with experience in leading and managing teams and stakeholders. 
  • Extensive experience in substations civil and structural design, including design and construction. 
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and international standards, legislation, and policies relevant to substations primary design. 
  • Ability to direct and review designs with external consultants, using engineering business systems and design software. 
  • Proficient in design control quality assurance processes to ensure designs meet quality standards. 
  • Substantial experience in leading and managing a high performing technical team and ability to manage and influence a diverse and complex set of internal and external stakeholders.
