Transgrid is powering the energy future and we’re looking for a driven Category Manager, Procurement Lead to help make it happen.

 

In this high-impact role, you will shape and execute category strategies across critical growth areas including Transmission Lines, Substations, Energy Storage, Digital infrastructure, Connections and Non-Network solutions. You will own end-to-end category performance, driving commercial value, supplier excellence and whole-of-life outcomes across major infrastructure programs.

 

We’re looking for a commercially sharp procurement professional with experience in major projects and complex infrastructure environments. You bring strong category management capability, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to influence and collaborate in a highly matrixed organisation.

About you

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline and/or minimum of 5 years’ experience in comparable industries
  • Experience in major projects, including working with and managing original equipment manufacturers and understanding critical high and medium voltage design and associated connections.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in category management and procurement
  • Demonstrated understanding of procurement processes, commercial frameworks, and risk allocation.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce category strategies, supplier and market trend reports.
