About the role
We are seeking an experienced Asset Management System Engineer to join Transgrid’s Asset Management Group. This role plays a key part in supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of Transgrid’s Asset Management System (ISO 55001 certified) and Electricity Network Safety Management System in line with AS5577 obligations.
You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, manage audits and certifications across NSW, ACT, and Victoria, and support the development of strategies that maintain Transgrid’s operating licence. This is a critical role for safeguarding the integrity, safety, and performance of our transmission network.
What you’ll do
- Support and improve Transgrid’s Asset Management and Electricity Network Safety Management Systems.
- Monitor compliance with the Asset Management Compliance Plan, audit plan, and regulatory reporting.
- Coordinate audit and certification processes for Asset Management System compliance.
- Ensure Electricity Network Safety Management System and IPART reporting obligations are met.
- Provide technical guidance on engineering practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
What you’ll bring
- Degree-level tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in asset lifecycle management aligned to ISO 55001 standards.
- Knowledge of national and international asset management standards and practices.
- Understanding of Management Systems (Health & Safety, Environment, Asset Management, Quality).
- Technical expertise in transmission network design, construction, maintenance, and operation.
- Knowledge of legal, safety, and environmental requirements for electricity networks.
- Strong skills in risk management, change management, and regulatory engagement.
