About the role

 

As the Access and Approvals Director for the Hunter Transmission Project, you will provide senior leadership across community engagement, environmental planning, and land and property access to support the safe and timely delivery of this major infrastructure program. Reporting to the HTP Program Director, the role is responsible for securing and managing approvals, permits, and site access, while maintaining strong relationships with landowners, communities, government agencies, and regulators. Acting as the senior escalation point for complex or sensitive matters, you will drive consistent governance, proactively manage stakeholders and approval risks, and ensure access and approvals outcomes align with regulatory requirements, project schedules, and Transgrid’s commitment to trusted delivery.

 

About you

 

  • Extensive experience in access, approvals, environmental planning, land and property, or stakeholder engagement roles within major infrastructure projects
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex regulatory, land access, and stakeholder environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with experience working closely with landowners, communities, and government agencies
  • Demonstrated capability managing approvals pathways, compliance obligations, and risk in large, complex projects
  • A collaborative and values-led leader with a strong commitment to safety, transparency, and community trust
  • Demonstrated experience applying specialist skills on major infrastructure projects with a strong preference for those exceeding $500m in value.
