The Opportunity 

 

As Apprentice Programs Coordinator, you will take responsibility for the design, coordination, and delivery of Transgrid’s apprentice development pathways. From TAFE integration and rotations to specialist programs and skills development, you’ll ensure every apprentice has a structured, supportive journey that sets them up for success. 

 

You’ll play a critical role in mentoring and guiding apprentices, working closely with trainers, supervisors, and TAFE partners to deliver training that is compliant, practical, and future-focused. 

 

Note, This position can be based at multiple Transgrid locations, including Sydney, Tamworth, Newcastle, Orange, Wagga Wagga, and Yass

 

A Day in the Life at Transgrid 

 

In this role you’ll: 

 

  • Coordinate core apprentice programs including hand skills, wiring, and digital pathways. 

  • Oversee TAFE integration and ensure alignment with operational requirements. 

  • Manage apprentice rotations across business units to build a broad skill set. 

  • Track apprentice progress, competency achievement, and compliance records. 

  • Provide mentoring, support, and guidance throughout the apprenticeship journey. 

 

About You 

 

You are passionate about early careers and building the next generation of skilled tradespeople. You thrive on supporting apprentices, balancing program logistics, and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. 

 

You will bring: 

 

  • Experience in apprenticeship or workforce program coordination 

  • Understanding of VET frameworks and competency-based training. 

  • Strong mentoring, communication, and organisational skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
