The Opportunity
 

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Transmission Lines to be responsible, in conjunction with the Project Delivery Manager, for delivery of components for the HumeLink (HL) Project across Transgrid’s network, whilst managing the daily coordination of Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain and Construction resources on high voltage transmission projects (lines and substations).

 

This role will require sound project and contract management experience to ensure that work is completed to appropriate technical, work health & safety, environmental, budget, time, statutory and quality standard requirements. The role will also have the responsibility of guiding, mentoring and coaching of team, managers, site teams, and graduates.

 

About You

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Electrical & Civil Engineering and/or extensive equivalent industry experience is desirable.
  • Project Management qualification at Diploma level or higher (Advanced Diploma desirable) along with Project Management qualifications e.g. PMI, AIPM certification.
  • Relevant technical experience in a Transmission Line, Substation environment or Civil construction.
  • Experienced in the management of projects, including investigation, specification preparation, site management and contract management.
  • An ability to understand and interpret drawings, specifications, proposals and other documentation to assess time/cost/labour estimates for projects and services.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of transmission line and substation projects.
  • Experience in the concept of Asset Management and how it applies in a substation environment.
  • High standard of communication and report writing skills, personal integrity and professionalism.
  • The position requires high level interpersonal skills to clearly convey ideas including complex technical issues to inform, influence and persuade or direct the work of others both verbally and in written form is required
  • An ability to understand and interpret drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to assess time/cost/labour estimates for projects and services.
  • Competent in the application of WH&S and environmental legislation relative to the duties of the position
  • Capacity to lead a small team.
  • Sound IT skills in the Microsoft Office suite, TheOS, TRAC, Ellipse, PowerBI, etc.
  • Current Drivers’ Licence.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Transgrid Policies and Procedures which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of transmission line and substation projects.
