Joining Delivery Projects as a Project Engineer means stepping into one of the most dynamic parts of our business. You will be immersed in projects that are central to Australia’s renewable energy transition. From the design and procurement of critical assets through to construction and commissioning. This is a role for engineers who want to see their work come to life on the ground and contribute directly to projects of national significance.

 

Project Engineers at Transgrid are not confined to one task. They are collaborators, problem solvers, and coordinators across multiple disciplines. You will provide essential support to Project Managers while also taking the lead on smaller-scale projects, giving you the opportunity to broaden your technical expertise and develop leadership capability in a supportive environment.

 

A Day in the Life at Transgrid

As a Project Engineer, no two days are the same. You’ll find yourself working across planning, technical coordination, and site activities, often bridging the gap between engineering design and delivery on the ground. You’ll be part of a project team that values collaboration and clear communication, with opportunities to step up and take ownership.

  • Support Project Managers in the delivery of high-value projects.
  • Coordinate technical, procurement, and design activities.
  • Resolve construction challenges and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enable seamless execution.
  • Track budgets, risks, and project performance, providing regular updates to leadership.

 

About You

You’re an engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and is motivated by the challenge of delivering complex infrastructure. You bring technical know-how, a solutions-focused mindset, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 2–6 years’ experience in infrastructure or energy project delivery.
  • Strong technical knowledge of substation or transmission line construction.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • A strong commitment to safety, integrity, and collaboration.
