The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a capable and proactive Workplace and Facilities Asset Services Coordinator to join our Newcastle team on a 2-year fixed term basis. This is not your typical front-of-house or administration role. You will act as a site-level asset and facilities coordinator, responsible for the day-to-day support of workplace and asset services across Transgrid's NSW office and depot locations.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring a high-quality workplace experience and smooth facility operations. Reporting to the Workplace/Administration Team Leader, the role also includes a dotted-line reporting relationship into the Facilities Asset Manager, contributing to the delivery of property projects, minor capital works, and workplace initiatives.
You will also support asset management planning and reporting, contributing to annual review cycles, capturing and consolidating stakeholder inputs, and ensuring alignment with operational standards and Transgrid policies. The role will help implement the Asset Management Plan, support performance reporting and assurance processes, and identify opportunities to embed best practice and continuous improvement across workplace operations.
This role would suit someone with experience in facilities management, asset coordination or workplace operations, ideally within a local, state, or federal government or regulated infrastructure environment, and who enjoys a mix of site responsibility, administrative work, and service delivery.
A Day in the Life at Transgrid
On any given day, you might:
- Manage visitor access, site security, and switchboard operations across office and depot environments.
- Coordinate and respond to property maintenance, asset reporting, and compliance matters.
- Assist in the delivery of WHS-aligned emergency plans and hazard monitoring.
- Support minor works and facilities projects through procurement support, data entry, and site liaison.
- Deliver a range of administrative services including meeting support, document control, travel booking, and database updates.
- Collaborate with Transgrid teams and external vendors to maintain site standards and service levels.
About You
You are an organised and proactive professional who thrives in an environment where no two days are the same. With a background in facilities coordination, asset management, or workplace services, you bring a strong understanding of how to manage site-level operations while ensuring smooth day-to-day service delivery.
You’re confident working across multiple sites and stakeholders, balancing operational needs with administrative precision. Your approach is collaborative, and you’re known for staying composed and solutions-focused when juggling competing demands.
You will also bring:
- Experience working in facilities or asset management environments, ideally within local, state, or federal government or a regulated industry
- Strong administrative capability and attention to detail, with experience drafting or maintaining procedures and process documentation
- Proven ability to support asset reporting, compliance assurance, and stakeholder input coordination
- Excellent communication skills that help you build strong relationships with team members, contractors, and vendors
- A current NSW Driver’s Licence and the flexibility to travel to sites as needed
- You take ownership of your work, value high standards, and are motivated by delivering reliable, customer-focused outcomes across workplace and facilities services.
