The Opportunity

We have an amazing opportunity available for a Technical Trainer to join our team as a specialist Transmission Lines trainer and advisor for asset facing capabilities, authorisations and compliance activities.

The role will ensure the successful delivery of both nationally recognised Training Packages and customised Technical Development Programs. This includes all methods of training delivery and assessment.

You will assist in the design and development of training and assessment programs offered by the Technical Training Team. We are looking for a Transmission Lines Specialist, as this role will be responsible for managing the Transmission Lines Technician Apprentice Program, the delivery of the Certificate III in ESI - Transmission Overhead and all its components. You will have a Certificate III in ESI - Transmission Overhead coupled with extensive experience as this will be integral to your success in this role and is a requirement.

As a Technical Trainer, you will:

• Deliver and assess customised Technical Development Programs and nationally recognised Training Packages
• Deliver and assess Industry/Organisation courses including compliance courses, technical skills development programs and Power Systems Safety Rules authorisation training.
• Deliver and assess nationally endorsed Training Packages/Accredited Courses under Transgrid’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO) scope.
• Provide detailed unit/module outlines, assessment guidelines and tools, for learners and other trainers/assessors.
• Ensure training is delivered in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Assess and address the varied needs of each learner, including the provision of training which caters for individual differences in prior learning, academic abilities and learning styles (both on and off the job), and provide additional assistance to students with low levels of literacy and numeracy.
• Ensure content and delivery of Training Packages and accredited courses meet the standards of the VET Quality Framework.
• Support learners to complete their courses as per their Training Plans and course schedules.
• Ensure personal competence is maintained in accordance with recognised Workplace Training and Assessment standards required for a trainer and as required by policies and procedures
• Develop best practice models of vocational education and training delivery

Skills & Experience

• Certificate III in ESI - Transmission Overhead plus extensive relevant experience.
• Cert IV in Training and Assessment
• Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts involved in the delivery and evaluation of training programs.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills at the level required for the position.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Transgrid Environmental and WHS policies and procedures
• Proficient in the use of corporate systems
• A current NSW driver’s license.
