As our organisation continues to grow, we’re seeking a Strategy Lead to join our high-impact team. This critical role will drive enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, solve complex business challenges, and help shape Transgrid’s 10-year business plan. With a strong focus on strategic alignment, this role will work collaboratively across the business to elevate thinking, embed strategic rigour, and deliver measurable outcomes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the end-to-end strategic planning process across business units, producing high-quality deliverables for senior leadership and board endorsement.
  • Market & Business Insight: Analyse market dynamics, industry trends, competitor strategies, and internal performance data to uncover insights, identify risks and opportunities, and inform decision-making.
  • Enterprise Alignment: Partner with cross-functional teams to break down silos and ensure strategic alignment across the organisation.
  • Initiative Design & Delivery: Shape and lead strategic projects and high-value initiatives that drive business transformation and impact.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track progress on strategic priorities and key performance indicators, providing timely updates to leadership and refining plans as needed.

 

 

 

 

About You

 

You are a strategic thinker and collaborative problem solver with a passion for translating insights into action. You’ll bring a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive results in complex, fast-moving environments.

 

 

You’ll ideally bring:

 

 

  • 10+ years’ experience in strategy consulting and/or corporate strategy roles (experience in both is highly desirable).
  • Strong expertise in research, data analytics and evidence-based strategic thinking.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to distil complexity and present to senior executives and large groups.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and lead project execution.
  • High business acumen, strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, economics, commerce, finance, engineering, or a related discipline.

 

Desirable (but not required):

  • Experience in the energy, utilities, heavy industry or regulated sectors will be highly regarded.
