The Opportunity
Transgrid’s Procurement team is expanding and seeking a Sourcing & Procurement Business Partner to join the team. In this role, you will support either the Electrical and Engineering or Construction procurement team by managing the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and alignment with engineering specifications.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand medium to long-term business needs, developing procurement strategies and managing the end to end procurement process. This includes market analysis, building market intelligence, implementing best-practice supply base management, and executing action plans to drive strategic objectives. You may also be involved in managing Supplier Governance Fora and Supplier Relationship Management.
About you
To be successful in the role the ideal candidate should possess the following
- Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business / Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. CIPS Accreditation is not essential, but will be well regarded.
- Project procurement experience requiring collaboration with teams to define technical specifications, procurement strategy and commercial models.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in leading procurement category strategies and supplier relationship management activities, preferably in project procurement , preferably in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong stakeholder relationship management skills, with customer focus.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write procurement strategies, ITT document suites and approval documentation.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge and experience with contemporary procurement and contract management systems, preferably SAP, ELLIPSE, COUPA, ARIBA.
