About us

At Transgrid, we play crucial role in connecting electricity generators to the distribution network that power homes and businesses - we operate over 13,000km of high voltage transmission wires and 110 substations in NSW and the ACT.

As Australia transitions to renewable energy, we are ensuring the transmission system can deliver clean and reliable energy to support the transformation. You will have an opportunity to make a real difference and leave a legacy.

About the opportunity

This is an exciting, permanent role with us at Transgrid working within our Major Projects division. You’ll be supporting Project EnergyConnect (PEC), which is Australia’s largest energy transmission project. It involves building a new 900km transmission line to connect the energy grids in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

As a Senior Site Manager - Commissioning, you’ll enable the effective and timely outage and commissioning activities for successful delivery on a range of transmission projects. This will primarily entail management and coordination of site-based commissioning and energisation activities.

The position will collaborate closely with External Delivery Partners and Transgrid’s System Operations and Delivery teams along with a number of other significant internal and external stakeholders.

Extensive periods spent on site managing outage and commissioning activities will be required for this role, and therefore a roster arrangement can be agreed for example, a hybrid 10:4 type roster (the roster will depend on your current location).

About you

  • Ability to regularly travel and stay at the project site (project map and locations for Project EnergyConnect can be found on our website)
  • Possession of an appropriate qualification:
    • Electrical trade certificate or equivalent; OR
    • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; OR
    • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical),
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commissioning within the energy sector
  • High level of technical knowledge in the commissioning of substation or transmission line assets
  • A current Drivers Licence.
