The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our Delivery team, where you'll play a critical role in supporting the planning and execution of major infrastructure projects. Working closely with Project Directors and internal teams, you’ll bring structure, foresight, and clarity to the way we manage complex, capital-intensive work.

 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing integrated schedules, performing Earned Value assessments, and helping to drive program outcomes in alignment with time, cost, and quality goals.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project and master program schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Leading schedule risk analysis, EOT reviews, and Critical Path management
  • Driving Earned Value Management (EVM) and reporting on SPI, CPI and S-Curves
  • Collaborating closely with Engineering, Commercial, and Project Controls teams

 

A Day in the Life at Transgrid

Your days will be varied and impactful. Whether you’re refining a project schedule, advising the Project Director on schedule risks, or driving planning best practices across the business, you’ll be central to shaping the future of our infrastructure pipeline.

 

You’ll regularly:

  • Engage with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure project alignment
  • Facilitate schedule health checks, forecast updates and scenario planning
  • Translate data into meaningful insights for executive-level reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across planning systems and processes

 

About You

You’re a detail-oriented, collaborative planning professional with a passion for delivering real-world outcomes. You thrive in high-complexity environments and enjoy working across functions to bring clarity and structure to ambitious projects.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience planning complex infrastructure or capital works projects
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated capability in EVM, schedule reporting, and stakeholder management
  • Experience in transmission, utilities, or similar large-scale project environments
