As we enter an unprecedented phase of growth, we’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Legal Counsel to play a pivotal role in delivering some of the nation’s most significant clean energy infrastructure projects.

 

 

In this newly created role, you’ll provide strategic and practical legal support for our fully contestable Lumea business, focusing on complex energy connections projects that are critical to transforming Australia’s national electricity system into a renewables-based future. Your expertise will help navigate high-value commercial arrangements, regulatory frameworks, and contractual negotiations, ensuring the successful delivery of these landmark projects.

 

 

You’ll be a trusted adviser within the Legal Team, partnering closely with senior stakeholders in the Lumea business, and contributing to a culture of integrity, accountability, and innovation.

About You

 

At Transgrid, our core values — Safety, Achievement, Integrity, and Service — guide everything we do. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, solutions-focused professional who shares this commitment and brings a strong foundation of legal expertise.

 

 

You will be admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, with around 5–7 years’ experience in projects, ideally gained through a mix of private practice and in-house roles. Experience providing regulatory advice will be highly regarded, along with a track record in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements. You’ll have worked on large-scale infrastructure projects and have the ability to identify, assess, and manage both commercial and legal risks with confidence. Success in this role will require excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
