Senior Cost Controller

The Opportunity

Transgrid is seeking a Senior Cost Controller to lead financial oversight and performance monitoring across a portfolio of projects.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you’ll support the team in providing accurate cost data, insightful analysis, and strategic recommendations to support high-impact decisions.

What You’ll Do

• Lead cost control processes, budget tracking, and financial forecasting.
• Deliver clear, actionable financial reports to guide project performance.
• Apply project cost controls, manage change requests, and identify opportunities to improve project financial performance.
• Manage risk registers, quantify contingencies, and monitor exposure.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
• Champion continuous improvement and team capability development.

About You

• Degree-qualified in Finance, Commerce, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure projects including direct project/site involvement, cost controls, budget management, forecasting, and schedule alignment.
• Expertise in cost control, financial modelling, Earned Value, and data analysis.
• Skilled in Power BI and financial systems, with a proactive approach to learning Transgrid systems and tools.
