The Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Insights Lead to build and lead advanced reporting and analytics capability across our Category B project portfolio.
This is a newly created position that will lead the integration of systems and processes to generate clear, data-driven insights. You will design, automate and optimise reporting frameworks that empower teams with real-time performance data. All whilst supporting strategic planning, governance alignment, and continuous improvement across the infrastructure delivery lifecycle.
A Day in the Life at Transgrid
As the Project Insights Lead, your work will drive operational excellence across our most critical infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with delivery teams, technical experts, and senior leaders to translate complex system data into clear and importantly actionable reporting. Your typical day might include:
- Designing and automating performance dashboards in Power BI, aligned to strategic and project-specific needs
- Supporting governance and assurance frameworks by integrating compliance tracking into system-based reporting
- Leading user training on reporting tools and digital workspace platforms
- Managing Power BI, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams environments to support standardised project data and reporting workflows
- Collaborating with Infrastructure Delivery teams to align reporting processes with broader business systems and audit requirements
About You
You’re an experienced data professional who thrives on transforming data into insights that improve outcomes. You are highly proficient in Power BI and familiar with structured project governance environments, with a strong ability to communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, business, or a related field
- Advanced Power BI skills, particularly within Microsoft Fabric environments
- Experience operating within formal governance or project delivery frameworks
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- The ability to develop automated reporting solutions and drive adoption through training and support
