The Opportunity

 

We are looking for a skilled Project Developer to join our team based in Sydney NSW. In this role, you will develop, plan, and manage customer-focused projects, including generator connections, telecommunications, and transmission line modifications.

 

You will be involved from project initiation through to execution, ensuring technical feasibility, scope definition, and risk assessment are effectively managed. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical leadership, problem-solving, and project coordination to ensure successful outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in high-voltage infrastructure and transmission projects while driving innovative solutions that support the transition to a more sustainable energy system.

 

A Day in the Life as a Project Developer at Transgrid

 

  • Define project scope, schedules, and budgets while identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Lead technical coordination, ensuring high-voltage infrastructure designs meet regulatory and operational standards.
  • Manage multiple projects, balancing priorities to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Engage with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders to align project goals and expectations.
  • Ensure all projects comply with safety, environmental, and industry regulations.

 

About You

 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline) with relevant industry experience preferred. Candidates with Engineering degree and experience in (design or infrastructure construction in power industry) will be considered.
  • Proven experience in transmission line and substation projects (development, cost estimation, project management, or design).
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage risks, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
