The Opportunity

We are seeking an Indigenous Engagement and Access Officer to play a key role in supporting respectful, meaningful engagement with First Nations communities across our network solutions projects.

In this role, you will act as a trusted connection point between Transgrid, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and landowners, ensuring engagement is culturally appropriate, relationships are strong, and community perspectives are embedded in project delivery.

You will work closely with project teams, contractors and community representatives to support engagement activities, coordinate land access, and ensure clear, transparent communication throughout project development, land access, acquisition and construction.

This is an opportunity to contribute to projects of national importance while helping strengthen partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

 

About You

You are a relationship builder with a genuine commitment to supporting positive outcomes for First Nations communities.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues, experiences and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Proven ability to build respectful, effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and diverse community groups
  • Experience supporting or delivering culturally informed engagement in community, government or project-based environments
  • Strong written communication and record-keeping skills, with the ability to manage sensitive information
  • Confidence working on complex or sensitive community matters
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work across multiple stakeholders
  • A current driver’s licence is required, as travel to project sites will be part of the role
