High Voltage Site Managers & Senior Site Managers - Transmission & Substation (NSW)
Date: 18 Feb 2026
Location: NSW, Australia
Company: TransGrid

Lead Critical Energy Infrastructure
Transgrid is delivering some of Australia’s most significant high-voltage transmission and substation infrastructure as NSW accelerates renewable integration and grid strengthening.
As we move into major construction phases, we are seeking experienced Site Managers and Senior Site Managers to join our Delivery Projects division and lead complex site delivery across large-scale energy infrastructure programs.
These roles provide the opportunity to work within live network environments on projects that are technically demanding, high-profile and critical to the future reliability of the grid.
The Opportunities | Greater Sydney, Greater Hunter/Newcastle & Regional NSW
You will take accountability for safe, compliant and efficient delivery of HV transmission and substation construction works.
Depending on level, responsibilities will include:
- Leading contractor performance, site supervision and construction coordination
- Managing HV substation builds, transmission line works and switching station construction
- Coordinating outage planning, live network interfaces and energisation sequencing
- Overseeing testing, commissioning and integration into operational assets
- Ensuring WHS, environmental and quality compliance across site activities
Senior Site Managers will operate with greater autonomy across complex work packages and may undertake Principal Contractor responsibilities and broader commercial oversight.
The Projects
You will have the opportunity to work on nationally significant energy infrastructure programs that are reshaping the NSW transmission network, including:
- Snowy 2.0 Transmission Connection: Enabling up to 2,200MW of dispatchable renewable energy to connect into the National Electricity Market through new high-voltage transmission lines and switching infrastructure.
- Central-West Orana REZ: Large-scale transmission expansion supporting renewable integration across multiple sites and complex contractor interfaces.
- SynCons Program: Installation and commissioning of synchronous condensers to strengthen system stability and support grid reliability.
- Data Centre Connections: High-specification HV cable, protection and control integration works delivered in fast-paced, technically demanding environments.
These projects provide exposure to complex staging, live network constraints and technically demanding HV construction at scale.
About You
You are an experienced high-voltage construction professional who is confident leading site delivery within live transmission environments.
You bring:
- Proven experience delivering HV substation and/or transmission line construction projects
- Strong contractor leadership and the ability to drive safe, high-performance outcomes on site
- Experience managing outages, switching interfaces or brownfield works within operational networks
- A relevant qualification (Electrical trade, Diploma or Engineering degree)
Experience within utilities, transmission networks, renewable grid connections or other large-scale energy infrastructure programs will be highly regarded.
Why Transgrid?
Transgrid owns and operates the high-voltage transmission network connecting generators, renewable energy zones and distribution networks across NSW and the ACT.
Joining Transgrid means:
- Delivering long-term capital infrastructure with program continuity
- Exposure to technically complex transmission and substation projects
- Competitive remuneration aligned to capability and experience
- 20 weeks paid parental leave and workplace flexibility
- Structured development pathways and ongoing training
You will be part of an organisation central to Australia’s energy transition, with the scale, stability and technical depth to support long-term career progression. Beyond benefits, we believe in real development and progression. Here, you’ll have access to regular and ongoing training, tertiary education support, and career mentoring. Enabling you to build a career that evolves with you.
