Director of Project Commercials

The Role

The Director of Project Commercials is a senior leadership role responsible for the commercial management of all Lumea customer contracts during the project delivery phase. This includes governance, oversight, and sponsorship of major customer projects following contract execution.

Leading the Contracts Management function, this role ensures contractual compliance, strong commercial outcomes, effective risk management, and financial performance across a large and complex infrastructure portfolio.

The Director works in close partnership with the Director of Customer Portfolio Delivery to ensure alignment between commercial strategy, delivery outcomes, and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of Contracts Managers and Contract Administrators.
• Provide strategic oversight of commercial governance, contract management, and compliance across all projects.
• Oversee contract variations, claims, disputes, and negotiations to protect Lumea’s commercial position.
• Monitor and report on commercial performance, including revenue, margin, cash flow, and risk exposure.
• Ensure robust management of contractual risk, including bonds, liquidated damages, and extension of time claims.
• Partner with project owners and senior stakeholders to support successful project delivery outcomes.

• Customers report high satisfaction and confidence in Lumea’s delivery performance.
• Commercial entitlements are protected, and contract variations are successfully negotiated.
• Portfolio risks are proactively managed, with minimal unplanned financial or reputational exposure.
• Executive leadership has clear, timely visibility of commercial performance and risk.

About You

• Extensive senior experience in commercial, contract, and portfolio management within infrastructure or energy environments.
• Proven capability managing large, complex capital programs (circa $1bn annually).
• Strong commercial acumen with advanced negotiation, risk management, and governance expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary, matrixed teams.
• Deep understanding of regulated network businesses and the national infrastructure market.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
