The Role
The Director of Customer Portfolio Delivery is accountable for delivering exceptional customer outcomes and sustainable commercial value across Lumea’s portfolio of major projects.
This senior leadership role provides strategic oversight of project delivery, governance, and commercial integrity while working in close partnership with Lumea’s delivery partners. Acting as the senior customer advocate, the Director ensures customer satisfaction, manages risk, resolves complex issues, and safeguards Lumea’s commercial entitlements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
The Director works in close partnership with the Director of Project Commercials to ensure alignment between commercial strategy, delivery outcomes, and customer commitments.
The role influences bid development and operations, ensuring customer insights and commercial rigour are embedded from inception through delivery and into operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor project owners and senior delivery leaders across a complex, matrixed organisation.
- Own customer relationships during delivery, acting as the primary escalation point for issues and disputes.
- Oversee portfolio delivery performance, ensuring projects meet agreed time, cost, quality, and financial (IRR) targets.
- Drive strong governance, risk management, and assurance frameworks across the portfolio.
- Provide strategic oversight of commercial outcomes, contract variations, and negotiations.
- Identify root causes of delivery challenges and drive sustainable solutions.
- Partner with internal delivery teams and senior stakeholders to align customer outcomes with organisational objectives.

- Customers report high satisfaction and confidence in Lumea’s delivery performance.
- Major projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within approved commercial parameters.
- Commercial entitlements are protected, and contract variations are successfully negotiated.
- Portfolio risks are proactively managed, with minimal unplanned financial or reputational exposure.
- Project owners operate as high-performing, customer-focused leaders.
- Executive leadership has clear, timely visibility of delivery performance and risk.
About You
- Senior leadership experience in infrastructure, energy, or major capital project delivery.
- Proven track record managing large, complex portfolios (circa $1bn annual capital programs).
- Proven experience in managing strategic customer relationships and driving customer satisfaction across complex delivery environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with deep experience in contract management and negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary, matrixed teams.
- Advanced stakeholder, conflict management, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, commercial risk, and regulated environments.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
