Are you a driven and dynamic professional looking to make a real impact in Australia’s evolving energy landscape? Here’s your opportunity to lead exciting infrastructure projects with LUMEA™, a Transgrid Group brand at the forefront of competitive renewable energy innovation.
About the role
The Customer Portfolio Manager leads senior customer relationships and customer-commercial outcomes across a portfolio of major energy infrastructure projects.
Acting as a key interface between customers, project delivery teams and internal commercial stakeholders, the role maintains a portfolio-level view of customer commitments, commercial exposure, delivery confidence and emerging risk.
This is not a traditional project delivery role. You will work through multidisciplinary teams to align customer expectations, delivery realities and commercial priorities, intervening and escalating where required to protect customer confidence and sustainable commercial outcomes.
The role offers the opportunity to influence complex projects across their lifecycle, support material customer and commercial decisions, and contribute to improved governance and portfolio performance.
What you’ll do
- Own and maintain senior customer relationships, aligning expectations, managing escalations and maintaining confidence through complex project environments.
- Provide customer and commercial leadership across a portfolio of infrastructure projects.
- Maintain visibility of customer commitments, commercial exposure, delivery confidence and emerging portfolio risks.
- Review and challenge customer, commercial and delivery-confidence positions, supporting timely decisions, intervention and escalation.
- Work with project delivery and commercial management teams to align delivery facts, customer positions and commercial strategy.
- Lead or support material customer discussions and negotiations within agreed commercial guardrails.
- Influence multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders without relying on direct reporting authority.
- Bring customer and commercial insights into bid handover, project governance, close-out and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, business or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in infrastructure, capital projects, commercial delivery, customer portfolio management or a related environment.
- Demonstrated success leading senior customer and stakeholder relationships across complex projects.
- Strong commercial judgement, including exposure to contract risk, claims, variations, financial performance and customer negotiations.
- Ability to understand complex technical, commercial and contractual matters and communicate them clearly to customers and executives.
- Demonstrated ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and resolve complex issues without relying solely on direct authority.
- Strong negotiation, conflict-management, problem-solving and escalation skills.
- A practical understanding of infrastructure project governance, safety, environmental and assurance obligations.
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to operate at the intersection of customer leadership, commercial performance and project delivery. You will work across renewable energy connections, data centres and other critical infrastructure initiatives that are helping shape Australia’s energy future.
You will have visibility across a portfolio rather than a single project, the opportunity to influence significant customer and commercial decisions, and a mandate to improve customer confidence, delivery alignment and portfolio outcomes.
You will join a collaborative team that values sound judgement, constructive challenge and the ability to achieve outcomes through strong relationships.
