The Opportunity
In your new role, you will play a pivotal role in connecting communities with one of Australia’s most significant infrastructure programs. Based in the Hunter, you will be the on‑ground presence supporting community members and landowners, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are understood, while helping maintain Transgrid’s social licence to operate.
In this role, you will build meaningful relationships within the project footprint, work closely with internal teams and contractors, and help shape community outcomes that leave a positive legacy for generations to come.
The ideal candidate will be a confident and experienced community engagement professional who excels in the field. You build trust quickly, handle sensitive issues with ease, and communicate clearly while working collaboratively with landowners, community members, and project teams.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement for major construction or infrastructure projects
- Proven experience leading on‑ground engagement activities and negotiating land access agreements
- Strong facilitation, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills
- The ability to manage resources, contractors or small teams in the field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
- A driver’s licence will be required as frequent travel to site is expected
