The Opportunity

The Delivery Projects team is looking for an experienced Project Manager to play a key role in delivering major capital infrastructure works across our transmission network. You'll deliver the project management function in accordance with Transgrid's policies and procedures, working closely with the Project Delivery Manager to keep our Executive Leadership Team informed on project status, performance and plans while ensuring strong collaboration between Transgrid and Lumea.

A Day in the Life

• Lead project elements to deliver on budget, quality, schedule and commercial outcomes across large capital high voltage substations and transmission lines projects
• Manage risk, quality, resources, communications, procurement and cost control across your project scope
• Support project planning and schedule management, monitoring performance and flagging issues early
• Establish and manage contracts, negotiate with contractors, and monitor contractor performance
• Support project assurance activities, including Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) construction assurance
• Coordinate third-party interfaces and stakeholder engagement to keep the integrated project schedule on track
• Provide timely, high-quality reporting on project performance, including Management Plans and ad-hoc submissions
• Build strong working relationships across a highly matrixed organisation, driving a collaborative, high-performing team culture

As Project Manager, you'll be a critical link between on-the-ground delivery and executive visibility, helping ensure our capital program is delivered safely, on time, and with integrity.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications at degree level in engineering or a related discipline
• Extensive experience managing large capital high voltage substations and transmission lines projects
• Strong business and commercial acumen, with a highly collaborative and decisive working style
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across a matrixed organisation
• Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and drive change
• Project Management qualifications (diploma, advanced diploma or degree)
• Experience in contract management and negotiation
• Experience directing field construction teams
• Experience negotiating project scope, cost, schedule and risk with customers
