About Us

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

In your new role, you will support the delivery of infrastructure and renewable energy projects across NSW. This role is hands-on and dynamic, involving regular travel to substations, depots, and customer sites to ensure environmental compliance and provide practical advice.

You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, and regulators to develop and monitor environmental management plans, conduct inspections, and support approvals. Your expertise in environmental legislation, spatial systems, and stakeholder engagement will help drive sustainable outcomes across our network.

If you're a qualified environmental professional with strong practical experience and a passion for working on the ground, this role offers the flexibility to be based at any of our depots (Eastern Creek, Newcastle, Orange, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga, or Yass), and involves extensive travel across NSW to support impactful infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

About you

  • A degree in Environmental Engineering, Engineering Science, Natural Resources Management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and safety legislation relevant to electricity networks or similar infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in spatial systems and software to support environmental planning and decision-making.
  • Practical experience in assessing environmental impacts and resolving property-related issues with stakeholders.
  • A willingness and ability to travel frequently across NSW, including overnight stays at regional sites.

Recognition & Reward

We believe in providing our people personal, professional and social benefits so that they can deliver their best work each and every day. Employees have access to a range of corporate discounts across retail, utilities, travel, health & wellbeing etc, as well as novated leasing options, workplace flexibility, 20 weeks paid parental leave and more.

Regardless of where you are in your professional journey, Transgrid powers your career by providing access to regular and on-going training, workplace mentoring and tertiary education. At Transgrid, you are encouraged to build a career that is right for you.
