About Us

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

A 6-month contract, based from any of our Transgrid locations, to play a key part in planning and managing high-voltage system outages that support the safe and efficient delivery of major infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with project teams, operations, and system control to align outage schedules, resolve clashes, and optimise access to the network. Your work will directly enable the successful delivery of construction, commissioning, and maintenance programs across the grid.

This is a technically focused role that combines strategic planning with stakeholder engagement. You’ll be instrumental in coordinating outages across multiple programs – construction, commissioning, and maintenance – ensuring delivery targets are met while maintaining safety and reliability. With exposure to renewable energy zones, battery systems, and new substation builds, this is a chance to contribute to exciting, future-focused work.

About you

  • Strong technical understanding of high-voltage infrastructure and outage planning.
  • Proven experience coordinating outages across complex construction or maintenance programs.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Maximo, TheOS, or similar outage planning tools.
