The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead on-the-ground construction delivery for the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ). One of Australia’s most significant energy transition projects.

This is a dedicated project role, providing direct leadership of Senior Site Managers and delivery partners to safely deliver major works across regional NSW. You’ll be the pivotal link between our Delivery Projects team and contractors on site, ensuring safety, quality, time and budget targets are met while driving alignment with Transgrid’s values and ways of working.

This position is predominantly site based, with regular travel across project locations and periodic office weeks for planning and reporting. It offers a unique chance to be part of a nation-defining renewables project.

A Day in the Life at Transgrid

No two days look the same in this role. You’ll typically:

• Start each day on site leading pre-starts and safety walks with contractors and site teams.
• Oversee daily construction activities, resolving issues and ensuring work meets design and safety standards.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and wider Delivery team to report progress and manage risks.
• Engage with landowners, local authorities and stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and clear communication.
• Finish the week collaborating with planning and engineering colleagues to forecast works and resource needs.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you bring:

• Electrical trade qualification or Engineering degree with extensive HV construction experience (substations).
• Proven leadership of large, complex infrastructure projects within the utilities or energy sector.
• Strong understanding of contract management and delivery partner oversight.
• Comprehensive knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation (Cert IV in WHS desirable).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport across diverse stakeholders.
• A current NSW Driver’s Licence, White Card and willingness to travel regularly across NSW.
