The Opportunity
 

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

 

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager for our HumeLink project to lead efficient construction management services associated with Transgrid’s assets and external business opportunities in full compliance with policies and procedures and relevant safety and environmental legislation.

The position is responsible for the effective early planning and management of all construction work associated with transmission line and substation assets and ensures the efficient utilisation of resources to enable accurate estimating, delivery, and performance monitoring of internal and external projects. Core responsibilities to the role include driving a progressive and visible Safety culture and the mentoring and development of other Transgrid staff.

 

About You

 

  • Possession of an appropriate qualification:
    • Electrical trade certificate; OR
    • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Project Management or equivalent; OR
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil), Project Management or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of project management, construction, testing and commissioning of transmission assets
  • Knowledge in the application of WHS, preferably Cert IV in WHS and environmental legislation relative to duties of the position
  • Competent in the application of risk management methodologies
  • Sound interpersonal skills that will facilitate the establishment of working relationships with stakeholders and peers
  • The ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce located over multiple sites
  • In depth knowledge of electricity industry and participant expectations
  • Resource and people management skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrable ability to implement organisational change
  • This position requires the individual to spend time on site during development and execution of projects which may require significant time away from base location and require overtime and travelling time to be able to provide sufficient cover across multiple project sites at once
