Community Engagement Officer

Date: 13 Aug 2025

Location: Australia

Company: TransGrid

About Us

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

Be part of Australia’s clean energy future with Transgrid — a purpose-driven organisation delivering some of the nation’s most significant renewable energy projects. Our work is helping to shape a reliable, sustainable power system for generations to come.

As a Community Engagement Officer, you will play a central role in supporting landowners impacted by our existing network and major capital projects. This role involves working across internal teams to ensure community and stakeholder enquiries, complaints, and commitments are accurately recorded, managed, and closed out within agreed timeframes. You will also proactively communicate works to landowners via many channels including letters, emails and website. You'll need excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, along with a strong ability to follow processes and maintain detailed records in Transgrid’s Customer Relationship Management database, Salesforce.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a passion for community engagement, strong time management, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You’ll advocate for the community, plan and deliver engagement activities, and support access to infrastructure while upholding Transgrid’s social licence. You’ll also help identify efficiencies and potential cost savings through better processes, while producing regular reports to monitor progress and outcomes.

Please note that this role can be based in our Ultimo Head office or in Wagga Wagga.

Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation skills, diplomacy, and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders—including landowners, the public, advocacy groups, and government—are essential. You’ll be highly organised with strong record keeping and data management skills, comfortable following established processes, and capable of working independently or collaboratively to meet deadlines. A strong track record of delivering results rounds out your profile.
