The Opportunity

 

Join Transgrid as a Community & Stakeholder Engagement Officer for the Hunter Transmission Project, based in Sydney or the Hunter. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building strong relationships with landowners, stakeholders, and the community while supporting essential infrastructure projects that power the future.

 

You’ll work closely with internal teams and contractors to manage enquiries, complaints, and commitments, ensuring timely resolution and accurate reporting. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on communication, negotiation, and delivering positive outcomes for both the community and the business.

 

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong people skills and a passion for community engagement. You’ll be calm under pressure, highly organised, and able to follow processes while advocating for the community and maintaining Transgrid’s social licence to operate.

 

About You

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Community Engagement OR equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in community engagement or a public-facing role (5+ years)
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Exceptional record keeping and data management skills
  • A driver’s licence is preferable as frequent travel to site is expected
