The Opportunity

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join our Network business unit at Transgrid.

 

Reporting to the Major Projects Integration Manager within Strategic Network Planning and Development, the Principal Engineer plays a critical role in supporting our Major Projects partners as the Project Integration Specialist. This role is responsible for coordinating planning across major projects and ensuring successful integration and interface management, while delivering outcomes that meet performance standards, project timelines, cost objectives, and overall delivery requirements.  

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Lead technical discussions with EnergyCo and AEMO to support the integration of ISP projects and future Renewable Energy Zones (REZs).
  • Provide coordinated strategic planning for the development of the NSW transmission network, delivering optimal outcomes for the business.

 

Skills & experience we are looking for

 

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Preferably Professional qualified and registered engineer (e.g. CPEng, RPEQ)
  • Extensive experience in the assessment and development of electricity transmission systems
  • Substantial experience in project planning, project development, system operations or electricity market analysis
  • Expert knowledge and recognised capability in major project integration
  • Knowledge of the operation of the National Electricity Market
  • Extensive knowledge of the NSW and interconnected system and its capabilities
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles and experience process development
  • Reporting and Presentation Skills to Senior Executives and external Organisations
